Part time photographer, Dax Ward recently visited the tower that was another victim of the Asian financial crisis and never officially opened its doors.
It seems as though the eerie location in the Bang Na District of Bangkok was doomed from the start with a rumoured three counts of suicide and two incidents of murder occurring inside the last 20 years.
Dax, who took the pictures in March 2017, said: “It was never finished and never officially opened its doors.
“It has a tragic past of suicide, accident and murder and nowadays is walled off in the front with sharp, rusty metal obstacles and wooden barriers.
“The first 10 or so floors were built as a parking garage, with the upper floors planned to be offices for the Thai Fa Group – a construction/contracting company.
“It is a very dangerous and perilous property. A family now looks after the place, prohibiting outsiders from entering.”
Besides a family of caretakers who reside on the ground floor, no one sets foot inside the deserted building.
Dax said: “It is a very dangerous place to wander around and I did sense that some bad things had happened there as I walked through.
“At least three people have died from falling deaths from the tower, all reported to be suicide.
“And a murder occurred at the tower on August 22, 2012.
“I wasn’t fully aware of the specific things that had happened there when we were in the tower; but the wall art, general interior darkness and overcast weather certainly gave the place a morose atmosphere.”
The office tower stands out as one of the taller buildings in the district and so Dax could not resist the curiosity of exploring what was inside.
"I think I came out with some excellent images,” Dax said.
“The graffiti murals are brilliant; some amazing effort and skill went into the artwork and it was really cool to be able to shoot.”
