The iconic world leaders caused a stir with tourists when they strolled down Hollywood Boulevard

But all was not as it seemed - as both men are professional lookalikes.

Obama lookalike Reggie Brown, 34, met Kim Jong-un impersonator Howard, 36, outside the Oscars ceremony in Los Angeles.

The impersonators were trying to use their famous faces to sneak into the Academy Awards - but took some time to pose for the tourists' cameras.

But despite being dead ringers for the political titans, the pair were unsuccessful at getting into the glitzy bash.

Howard, 36, said: “As soon as we reached Hollywood Boulevard we were constantly surrounded by people.

“We were followed the whole time by people who wanted a picture with us.

“Being in character I was able to get away with saying ‘hello stupid Americans’ and ‘death to America’.

“People really enjoyed it.”

Reggie, considered to be the world's best President Obama impersonator, said he was surprised by the reaction.

He said: "It was kind of overwhelming. People see you coming and they get so happy and everyone wants to get a picture to show their friends and family.

"With Howard it was good cop, bad cop.

"All he has to do is be mean and people love it. I have to smile and wave.

“A Brazilian woman came up and said, ‘Obama, I love you', then looked at Howard with contempt and said, 'you should go back to Korea’.”

Howard added: “Reggie is the best Obama impersonator out there and I’m the only Kim Jong-un impersonator.

"A lot of the Americans wanted a picture with Reggie but I noticed a lot of the Chinese tourists wanted pictures with me.

“He definitely has the market in North America but I am more popular in Asia.”

Howard started a crowdfunding campaign to get him to the US from his home in Hong Kong, raising $1,500 for the trip.

And last month he managed to get into the Grammys and have his picture taken with Katy Perry.

He said: “I saw her walking past so I stood up and said 'Katie Perry' in my best Kim Jong-un voice.

"I said, 'do you know who I am?’.

"She was very serious and looked surprised - so I don’t know if she realised I was an impersonator or not.”

Reggie, who lives in LA, said: "It was entertaining but I knew we weren’t going to get into the Oscars.

“Around the ceremony it was shut down for six blocks along Hollywood Boulevard.

“Howard was hilarious, yelling 'death to America’ at cops with AK47s around their neck."
