The four-week-old male named Tigger is captured on camera shyly taking to the warm water and learning to float.
As he is lifted out his natural instinct to paddle continues for ten seconds while his paws drip dry and he quietly stares into the camera.
The puppy and his siblings are being trained to swim by their owner Marlon Grennan of Dark Dynasty K9s.
The protection dog business teaches all its puppies to swim in preparation for life as protection dogs.
Marlon, 29, from New Hampshire, USA, said: “It is part of imprinting that fearlessness in the dogs so they are ready for any situation.
“Water is an element of life and if the dog is going to be a top protection dog they really need to be prepared for anything.
“Whether they are going to be a protection dog or not we still get them to swim as it is good exercise and they really enjoy it.
“I have never met a dog that doesn’t love water. It is pretty priceless to see them swimming at such a young age.
“It is natural for them to swim and we teach them from a very young age. We put them in a pool and get them used to the water.
“I expect them all to be strong swimmers by the time they are 12 weeks old.”
Tigger is the son of Marlon’s world-famous 180lb giant pit bull Hulk and his mate Roxy.
Dark Dynasty K9s specialise in training elite protection dogs for the police, celebrities and billionaire clients around the world.
Some of their prize puppies can sell for as much as $65,000 and early this year he valued a litter fathered by Hulk at $500,000.
