Going under: Lisa says her technique has immediate results

Lisa Machenberg can motivate children do their chores, complete their homework and have better manners through hypnosis parenting techniques.

The mum-of-three, from California, admits to hypnotising her three children throughout their lives – with everything from potty training to excelling in exams by bypassing the conscious mind and instructing their subconscious thoughts.

Lisa charges $125 per hour session and says that she has the ability to change ‘demons’ into ‘little angels’. Now she holds lectures teaching other parents how to hypnotise their children and says that mind influence is the ultimate form of parenting.

Drift away: Lisa has many methods for tapping into the unconscious mind

Lisa said: “Hypnosis and parenting is a natural combination.

“If we learn hypno-parenting we learn how to hypnotise our children to be cooperative, peaceful, have containment and have good study habits because they have focus and have more resilience out there in the world.”

Lisa, 56, has been a certified hypnotist for over 23 years and is an instructor at the Hypnosis Motivation Institute in California.

Look into my eyes: Lisa has been a hypnotist for 23 years

She believes that self-hypnosis helped her conceive her 19-year-old twin boys after fertility problems and she even hypnotised herself during childbirth.

Lisa said: “I used hypnosis for the mind-body connection to help me conceive and carry my children.

“I had a very-very hard time having children. I used hypnosis in conjunction with western medicine and conceived twin boys.

And she says her controversial techniques can improve behaviour in children

“Then I used hypnosis so I could be very-very comfortable when I went into labour and then I used hypnosis to help the children sleep quickly, calmly, soundly and deeply all through the night.”

Lisa insists that hypnosis has helped her and her children get ahead in life.

She said: “I taught my children hypnosis so that they could have focus, concentration and be very calm taking their SAT’s to get in to college.” However, Lisa also admits hypnotising her family to do things for her own gains.

Hypnosis at home: Lisa admits she uses hypnosis with her family to her own benefit

Lisa said: “I hypnotise my husband and my children to do things for my benefit all the time. “When mums are happy, everybody is happy. When the wife is happy, everyone is happy.

“We have a household to run and so many times I exert influence so that my children get their chores done so that the house runs efficiently.”

Although Lisa’s children have done well out of their mum’s profession, hypnosis has caused conflict in the household at times.

And she teaches other parents her unusual techniques

Lisa said: “My children rebelled against hypnosis when they were younger but it’s helped them and they use it themselves today to get what they want – so they can’t really complain.”

Lisa’s son, Jake, a student, said: “It could get a little crazy when she tries to kind of hypnotise us at every single possible situation that she can. It could get a little overbearing - she gets in your head.

“But as far as things like getting into college, I think it was an advantage. “It helped me to talk to teachers and get them to write really good levels of recommendation for me. I think it’s helped me, you know it’s helped me have control over my own mind.”

Drifting away: Lisa says hypnosis has helped her throughout her life

Lisa’s daughter Rayna, 17, has also used hypnosis to get ahead and improve her school grades.

Rayna said: “There was one teacher I really didn’t like in my high-school, he gave me a very bad grade that would have brought my grade down to a B from an A, so I went to talk to him and when I did, I made sure my hand was close to his arm and I said “you will raise my grade.”’

However Lisa’s other son Max insists they don’t have an unfair benefit over their peers. Max, a student, said: “I feel like we definitely have an advantage but it’s not like we’re using some sort of magic to overpower people’s will.

“There are just subtle things you can do to influence yourself and influence other people if you want to.”

Hypnosis for success: Lisa says hypnosis can help children in exams

Now Lisa teaches other parents how to hypnotise their children for a ‘harmonious home’. But she has attracted some criticism.

She said: “If someone says to me it is unethical to manipulate a child by using hypnosis to take control of the child’s mind also, I’ll ask 'tell me what you mean by that’.

“I’ll ask, 'when you parent your child tell me about what you do: is it effective, is it working, is it kind, are you a transitional hero raising your child in a way that you want your child to raise your grandchildren’.

Trance: Lisa says hypnosis can help with everything from behaviour to bed-wetting

“If they say 'well, wait a second sometimes yes sometimes no', I’ll say 'would you like to learn some techniques to exert influence so you will have more a cooperative, peaceful home?’

“We can use hypnosis to hypnotize our children to be the best that they can be, to be peaceful, cooperative.

“We can solve conflicts in a wonderful peaceful way that creates not just good children but helps them grow into good adults.”
