AN INTREPID photographer has captured breathtaking landscapes of Iceland using just an iPhone

The stunning images show the Northern Lights shimmering in the sky, and an intense sunset in the country’s most southern village.

Professional photographer Chad Copeland, who served ten years in the US military, captured the photos on his iPhone camera.

He said: "At first it took a lot of time for me to figure it out.

"Then I realised that in taking my time it became easy.

"There are numerous apps that allow you to take total control of the iPhone’s camera."

The former air traffic controller also captured beautiful images of inside an ice cave on the Skaftafell Glacier.

The 34-year-old from Seattle continued: "I was totally blown away.

"The iPhone 6 and 6 Plus both have amazing cameras in them.

"Although they are certainly not the same quality as a DSLR or Mirrorless full frame, they will do the job in a pinch.

"I really enjoyed the challenge."

Chad took the photos on an assignment for Moment Lens, Apple Inc, and outdoor clothing firm The North Face, in December last year.
