The giant internal organ, which reportedly weighed a colossal 6lbs (2.7kg), was extracted from a 45-year-old suffering from autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD).
And incredibly, a week after the initial op, a second kidney weighing 5.5lbs (2.5kg) was removed from the male patient, whose name has not been revealed by the hospital.
The 6lb kidney smashed the previous record of 4.7lbs, which was removed in Dhule, India, in 2011, according to Guinness World Records.
Normal heathy kidneys weigh between 125g and 170g in men - less than half a pound.
Doctors at the hospital said the swelling of the kidney was caused by chronic renal failure, and the patient had been suffering from high fever, blood in their urine and severe abdomen pain before he was admitted to the hospital.
"I used to remain tired throughout the day due to excessive blood loss," the patient said.
It took a team of surgeons three hours of dissection to remove the kidneys from the patient.
Dr Bhargav, who was part of the team of surgeons, said: "The kidney was 20 times the normal size and was stuck around the intestines.
"The patient is recovering and awaiting a kidney transplant."
Last year, the patient was diagnosed with a potentially lethal disease called autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD).
The disease affects between 1 in 700-1,000 individuals and is a common inherited disorder with 12.5 million cases worldwide.
The patient has been put on dialysis for now and will soon receive a kidney transplant.
