The snapper took 300 attempts to get the perfect shots

What appears at first glance to be a mysterious three-headed creature is actually just three friends sticking together.

Russian amateur photographer Sergey Agapov snapped the giraffe in Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya.

The retired Presidential Security Service officer spent three hours and 300 attempts to get the perfect shots of the trio.

The graceful giraffes appear alone in the stunning landscape

Standing against the backdrop of a stunning African savannah, the graceful figures, famous for their long necks, seemed to merge into one animal.

Photographer Agapov said: “I want to show the beauty, tenderness and grace of wild animals.

The three friends stuck together in the Masai Mara

"Giraffes are graceful animals when they play or look after each other - they’re full of beauty and delicate feelings.

Young giraffes are sociable and regularly indulge in play fights, but adult males tend to become more solitary as they get older.
