Photographer Daniel Pavlinovic, has been documenting the dramatic light-show over Dubrovnik, Croatia, for the past eight years.
Located on the east coast of the Adriatic Sea, the city is prone to atmospheric disturbances such as lightning storms and waterspouts.
Award winning snapper Pavlinovic, 33, insists his hometown is a great environment for someone interested in dynamic weather.
He said: “Dubrovnik is a very interesting city in the meteorological sense.
“While it enjoys a mediterranean climate, and it is often in the way of cyclones and other disturbances, meaning the weather changes frequently.
“The frequency of thunder and waterspouts is among the highest in the country. It is also a windy location, sometimes with gale force winds, which are most common from the October to April.
“Average annual rainfall here is considerably higher than for example London, and at the same time it has more sunshine hours than London.
“But for someone who has a passion for weather, it is very easy to fall in love with Dubrovnik.”
And Pavlinovic explained that capturing such powerful storms can sometimes be problematic.
He said: “I pay attention to safety but there are always some risks. I once got hit by a big wave and my mobile phone died.
“And the closest lightning strike was about 30 meters from me. I also once was knocked to the ground by the windy conditions and was almost thrown into the sea.”
